Notes:
If an exposure occurs to your skin, wash with soap and water.
If an exposure occurs to your mucous membrane (eyes/mouth), flush with water or saline.
Occupational Health Services (OHS) will evaluate your exposure. If a significant exposure has occurred, PEP (i.e., preventive medications) should be started within 1-2 hours, since earliest therapy is generally most effective.
Note: If there has been a delay in reporting of an exposure, PEP will be evaluated at time of reporting
***During off-hours, contact Nursing Coordinator for evaluation of exposure and possible referral to Emergency Department. (Contact Paging Operator for beeper number.)
