Notes:
Only 30-40% of infected individuals report a clinical illness and only 20-30% have jaundice. The rest of the infected persons have no symptoms, but are still infectious.
Transfusion-associated cases most often occurred prior to 1992. Testing is now available to screen donated blood, so new transfusion-associated cases are rare.
Needlestick injuries have been associated with the majority of occupationally-acquired Hepatitis C cases.
